I'm so proud. 'Wymyk' - Polish movie of Greg Zgliński is a best foreign film of the Rome Independent Film Festival. I hope I'll watch it in the Italian cinema soon.

La gita a Bolzano e il sciopero dei treni

Bolzano (Autonomia Trentino-Alto Adige) is a very particular city in the North East of Italy. Thanks to the beautiful Dolomite around you can't stop admiring the landscape. But Bolzano is specific also because some other reasons: 1. equally important German name (Bozen); 2. We haven't met any Italians (or people speak Italian) for tree days; 3. We had extremely wonderful hosts Frank (German) and <do not worry, it'a a fake name> Elvis (Lithuanian). The trip was really cool till...

beautiful landscape (up and down:)

... we found out that Sunday is a day of rail strike. Getting back to Lombardia was extremely exhausting. Finally we decided to hitchhiking and after all day long we get back home...

Traveling around Veneto and getting to know really cool EVS volunteers from Padova

It is said that first time is always exciting :) This weekend I had an opportunity to find out about it twice!
My FIRST travel to Veneto was connected with my FIRST travel with Couch Surfing. Both experiences were very interesting and unforgettable.

My first host Nico took care of me in Verona. He made for me traditional Italian ragout and took me for a trip around. I really enjoy my visit there cause Nico was great cook and magnificent guide :)

Casa di Giulietta

early-morning trip around Verona

Nico :)

Next destination point was Venice, where I went with my new friends from Padova (actually from all over the Europe, but now they do voluntary work in Italy). I guess I don't have to write that Venice is unbelievable glorious, do I?

Last stop during this wonderful weekend was in Padova, where Laura (adorable volunteer from Austria) gave me a place to sleep in her room and Ania (Polish volunteer in Padova) was my fantastic guide :) I really enjoy Padova in spite of it was really rainy day...

La Pasqua in Italia con la tradizione polacca

Easter without colored eggs? No way!
Italians don't know this tradition so me and my Polish and Lithuanian neighbors decided to put a little bit of our tradition into Italian Pasqua. We colored some eggs and baked the mazurek (Polish traditional Easter cake).

Pisanki (le Uova di Pasqua/Easter eggs) in progress...

ta dam! :)

I took my mazurek to Cisvol to let my colleges try a bit of Polish taste of Easter. I guess they liked it, cause mazurek disappeared in a few minutes :)

For the Pasquetta (Easter Monday) I went with my beloved Chiara (from Cisvol), her family and friends to the countryside near Cremona. The weather was great so me made a barbecue and I prepared my first macedonia (fabulous Italian dessert).

Exploring Parma

Lazy day in Parma was our (mine and Rasa's) plan for the Good Friday (in the catholic tradition it is a fasting day...). I was sure it was a good idea till I noticed and smelled Parma ham... It wasn't difficult to noticed it cause it was almost everywhere!

Anyway we enjoyed our trip cause it turned out Parma is not only ham :)

Well, it's all about the food... :)
